A monthly newsletter from The Fennville Rod & Gun Club
fennvillerodandgunclub.com
With autumn in full swing and winter just
around the corner, many of the gun club’s
summer activities are wrapping up for the
year. Although there is one more Friday
Calcutta, (this Friday, October 25), and there
will be food available for purchase, the fish fries
and the pancake breakfasts are finished for the
year. Thanks to all who came out and supported
FRCG throughout the summer, and a special
thanks to all the volunteers who helped make
all the activities possible. Egg shoots have also
wrapped up for the season. Make sure you let
Mike Cook know how much you appreciate his
efforts to make the egg shoots happen. Tuesday
evening skeet and trap shooting will also finish
up for the year next week, October 29. Saturday
trap and skeet will continue throughout the
winter months and lunch is always available.
One big event that will still happen this year is
the Holiday Bash, which will be held this year

A big thank you to everyone who came out for
the first annual Bill Veldhoff Memorial side by
side skeet shoot. There were approximately 15
shooters and a good time was had by all.
Jim McCormick took first place in the skeet
tournament, and Marty Angers took second! Bill
Veldhoff’s wife Yvonne would like to thank
everyone that came out and participated in the
event.

place at the December meeting.
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms
disarms only those who are neither inclined nor
determined to commit crimes…Such laws make
things worse for the assaulted and better for the
assailants; they serve rather to encourage than
prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be
attacked with greater confidence than an
unarmed man.
-Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting
18 th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria)
